December 23 - 27, 2005
A trip to West Virginia for Christmas, a four-day vacation in the mountains. Fun with family. Who could ask for anything more?
November 11-12, 2005
Our annual Youth Lock-In started at 7 PM with a Progressive Meal, and then went to a concert/worship service featuring One Day Less at 10 PM, then
the rest of the night was filled with games. After breakfast at 7 PM everyone headed for home to sleep most of the day away (except for a couple
of goofball girls who went to work instead.)
November 11, 2005
From this day forth you will see Heather driving a 2003 Baja instead of her little 1997 Corolla.
October 31, 2005
We had a good time at church doing the annual Treasure Trail thing. The favorite costumes of the night included ninjas, princesses and an Elmo.
October 22, 2005
We spent the day outside, enjoying the beautiful Fall day. We walked down Main Street, checking out all the little shops. We stopped for a cup of coffee and then met
our friends Scott and Stephanie for dinner.
October 21, 2005
Heather pulled a muscle in her neck early in the day and spent the rest of the day in bed (muscle relaxers are very helpful, but only when you don't have other plans.)
Alex did a perfect job of taking care of her in her time of need. :-)
October 19, 2005
Things got a little crazy at church when we tried to switch from Flag Football to Capture the flag.
October 8, 2005
Heather drove all the way to WV to stand in her old high school cafeteria with her former classmates saying things like, "This is weird." "Do you think this is weird?"
"This is really weird. Shouldn't there be music, or games, or an activity of some sort?"
October 1, 2005
We hosted a rockin' Mystery Science Theater 3000 party, complete with snacks of all kinds and over 15 guests (most of whom we knew.)
September 24, 2005
We worked for a couple of hours at the Buffalo Dayz Festival in Stamping Ground, then stopped by the Fall Festival at Double Stink Hog Farm to see one of
our girls working there. That evening Heather had a performance with the LVDS, and afterwards we grabbed some dinner with Scott and Stephanie.
September 18, 2005
The new Awana program started at church. Alex is in charge of games for every age group, and Heather is working with the "Cubbies" (ages three and four.)
September 17, 2005
Heather and Alex, with pals Scott and Stephanie, ventured to Berea for the Spoon Bread festival. (Spoon bread is, by the way, basically undercooked cornbread. Good with honey, though.)
August 7, 2005
Alex lead the first ever Stamping Ground Baptist Church All Star Banquet to thank all the folks who have helped out with the youth this past
year.
August 6, 2005
We painted our bathroom (Delightful Moon with the trim of Safari Sun) in the morning, then had coffee in Lexington with some friends.
After that we headed to Danville for a wedding, then back up to Lexington for a contra dance. What a day!
August 5, 2005
Heather went to "Mostly Waltz," where she got to do waltzing (of course) and other fun styles of dance, such as swing and the fox trot.
July 24 - 30, 2005
Youth group mission trip to Maryville, TN. We went down with six kids and brought six back (probably even the same ones.)
July 20, 2005
Water Games Night with the youth - photos coming someday (can't promise it will be soon) so keep an eye out for them in our photo gallery.
July 16, 2005
The Front Porch Service that we organized went well, then Heather went to see Alex's performance as Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast."
July 4, 2005
Watching fireworks with the Conrads was great, once we found the perfect parking spot.
June, 2005
Too busy with play practice and youth stuff to list - the month just flew by!
May 25, 2005
After a rowdy game of Bucket Ball with the Youth, Heather took Alex to the Emergency Room to get six stitches above his right eye.
May 23, 2005
We picked up Sarah and Stephanie to go visit Taylor and Amanda, who had a wreck. They have scrapes and bruises but are otherwise fine. We took the girls out to eat before taking them back home.
May 22, 2005
Alex grilled ginormous hamburgers to go along with hotdogs and other various side dishes and snacks for our lunch guests.
May 21, 2005
Heather planted Marigolds in our front planter, and added some new mulch as well. Thus, a new hobby was born.
May 20, 2005
We had a pizza date while watching several episodes of Scrubs - First Season. "You'll never be a good doctor if your head explodes."
